The Penrhyn Arms
in Penrhynside has
won the award of Regional Cider & Perry Pub of the Year 2011 for
the region Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. This is the third
time that the pub has won this accolade. This gives the Arms a
chance to progress to the next round of the competition and be
amongst the final four pubs in the UK. On the night of the
presentation there were no less than nine ciders and six perries
from seven different producers including three Welsh Cider
producers:- Gwynt y Ddraig from Pontypridd, Rosies Triple D from
Llandegla and a new cider producer Seidr y Glyn from Trefriw.
Presenting the award CAMRA Regional Cider Co-ordinator Ian
Saunders said the selection of ciders and perries at the Penrhyn
Arms had increased steadily over the years resulting in this
fantastic selection which must one of the best in the UK. Ian also
commended John on the quality of the products on sales saying that
each and every one was kept in top notch condition. He said that
the award was well deserved.

The Penrhyn Arms is a genuine free house situated in Penrhynside
Llandudno, it has earned the title of Cider & Perry Pub of the
Year for the 6th year in a row making it the best pub in the
county of Conwy for these most natural of alcoholic products.
During that five year reign the Arms has proved also to be the
best cider pub in Wales and amongst the top four in the UK. Last
year they picked the awards for Best Cider Pub in Wales and
Finalist in the National competition for Cider and Perry Pub of
the Year,voted Abercolwyn CAMRA`s Pub of the Year 2010.The penrhyn
Arms has been awarded the Abercolwyn CAMRA Cider and Perry pub of
